My name is George Appleby and I have been researching my family history for many years now. What started as a hobby has now culminated in my book being published 'The Appleby Family History' which elaborately charts the Domesday origins of the Appleby family. The story begins in the ancient Viking settlement of Eppleby, North Yorkshire, where Ulf was Lord. It then follows the family fortunes as Appleby's migrate throughout the North of England, and eventually reach the USA & Canada, taking us up to the modern day. Using a wealth of historical information and an imaginative use of maps, photographs & graphics, the Appleby family's journey through time is brought to life. This book shows how dates & documents can be exciting, how wills can reveal lives hidden in time, how dates can solve puzzles, how anyone researching their own Family history can achieve a story full of colour and fascination.
